Duck confit with lavender and herbs

On its steep south-facing terraces, the Cornas vineyards produce a concentrated Syrah with a rich, full character.

The lovely nose reveals wild berry aromas, such as blackberry and blueberry, with delicate hints of black pepper and a touch of sweet spice. Supple at first, the wine then shows volume and body, firmly underpinned by fleshy tannins.

The succulent, tender texture of the duck provides an ideal backdrop for the wine, and softens its solid structure. In this pairing, the thyme and laurel bring out the southern terroir and the lavender adds a delicate, airy touch, bringing an overall lightness to the pairing.
